Making industry placements work in my workplace – construction and engineering

There is no charge to attend this webinar.

An industry placement is an extended period of structured time that a student spends in your workplace, developing real skills and making a meaningful contribution to your organisation.

Many employers are already offering industry placements, which will be a fundamental part of T Levels – a new course designed by employers for 16-19-year olds, which combines classroom learning with a substantial industry placement (at least 315 hours).

Industry placements can work in many roles within your organisation. COVID-19 has disrupted some organisations’ preparation for offering placements. However, in this 1-hour webinar, we’ll give you a chance to discuss and learn about how to prepare for and offer industry placements in your workplace and in particular in construction and engineering roles. We will also discuss the measures employers have in place to meet COVID safety requirements and the government support now available to help you

The webinar will cover:

  • Brief introduction to industry placements and T Levels
  • COVID 19 safety measures related to industry placements
  • Discussions on the key considerations and potential barriers to hosting industry placements
  • Case study insights and advice from those already offering construction or engineering placements in a workplace similar to yours
  • The government support available to help you
